About the event
Bruno Ferreira’s Workshop Description - Wild Naya Academy 2026
My workshops invite participants into the world of collective jamming on the handpan, with a focus on playing together while also developing tools for solo exploration and creativity.
Each session will explore how to connect through harmony, rhythm, and melody, drawing inspiration from different musical landscapes:
1. Waltz, folk & pop patterns: from the flowing pulse of the waltz (3/4) to simple folk/pop grooves, exploring how these styles support collective playing and song-like improvisation (all levels).
2. Jazz & Swing: syncopation, phrasing, walking bass, and exploring different musical roles, all inspired by the improvisational spirit of jazz (all levels).
3. World music: inspired by Cuban, Brazilian, reggae, African and oriental traditions, discovering playful ways to create basslines, rhythmic dialogues, and collective jams (all levels).
