Beginner+ Workshop – Freedom & Flow in Handpan Playing

In this workshop, Malte Marten will show you how to bring freedom and ease to your handpan playing. His music is often described as intuitive, expressive, and effortless – and that's exactly what you'll learn here, step by step.
Over many years, Malte has developed a clear and simple method based on three basic elements: harmony, melody, and rhythm .
You will learn how to create infinite variations from a few patterns, seamlessly connect phrases, and find your own musical voice.
The aim of the workshop is to make you feel safe and free in the shared game (jam) – to listen, react and improvise creatively.
Whether you want to improve your technique, strengthen your rhythm, or simply play more freely – this workshop gives you the tools and clarity to make your playing vibrant, expressive, and effortless.

Intermediate Workshop – Creative Structure & Musical Freedom (English)

The Intermediate Workshop is aimed at players who want to deepen their musical skills and experience the handpan in a more free and conscious way.
Malte will introduce you to his creative structure – a system that helps you make complex musical ideas understandable, tangible and spontaneously expressible.
These sessions are about expanding your musical vocabulary , refining your groove , and learning how to communicate freely with others while playing.
You will explore how entire musical stories emerge from rhythmic patterns, how to consciously shape dynamics and melody, and how to incorporate your ideas into collaborative jams.
Even when it becomes more rhythmically or structurally demanding – Malte's method always keeps you in balance between clarity and freedom .
At the end of these workshops, you will not only know how to develop your own structures , but also how to transform them into flowing, improvised music.
