Amarok – Handpan Workshops

In his workshops, Amarok invites participants to discover the handpan as a versatile instrument for personal expression and collaborative music-making. Participants work on technique, coordination, and musicality while simultaneously learning to connect with others through rhythm, harmony, and improvisation. The sessions combine technical development with creative interaction. Beginners explore simple rhythms and grooves as a foundation for playing together, learn melodies and harmonies through playful exercises, and develop confidence in handling the instrument. Advanced players deepen their hand independence, work on complex rhythms, accents, and dynamic textures, and perfect advanced playing techniques such as rolls, flams, and ghost notes. All participants can explore the harmonic structures and moods of the handpan, practice improvisation, and develop musical stories both solo and in group settings.
